Reflective films control heat partly through a mirrored exterior appearance and can carry metallized layers that corrode in salt air and interfere with signal. Prestige is non-metallized and non-reflective, so the glass reads as untinted from the curb. 3M Ceramic Series is the value alternative: strong heat control with a neutral tinted appearance, often chosen for hard west-facing glare where some darkening is welcome.
