Yes. Glass overhead and sectional garage doors — common on dealerships, service bays, breweries, and restaurants — are filmed with solar control film to cut heat and glare in the bay. Each panel is filmed individually so the doors keep operating normally.
Reflective and one-way films give daytime privacy only. At night, when it is brighter inside than outside, the effect reverses. For 24-hour privacy you need frosted or decorative film, which obscures the view in both directions at any hour.
Usually yes, but the film has to be matched to the glass. High-absorption films on the wrong insulated unit can create thermal stress. We review the glass type and orientation and specify a 3M film listed as compatible so the glass warranty stays intact.
Safety and security film with an attachment system holds the glass together so it takes longer to break through — it delays forced entry, it is not bullet resistant. Ballistic protection requires a rated glazing system or an engineered strengthening product tested for the specified threat level.
